Goooooooaaaaaaaaallll!

Today we had a free day to explore Luang Nam Tha. After breakfast some of us rented mountain bike to ride to the main part of town, which was approximately 7 km north of the guest house. In town I just read some emails, had lunch, and wandered around. There really wasn't much to see. I went to the day market and was met with a variety of smells, most of which were disgusting. The meat area had flies everywhere. It was pretty gross. On the bike ride back to the guest house, this big truck rode by and then began spewing water all over the road. Richard and I had to slam on our breaks to keep from getting soaked. Somebody a little ahead of us wasn't as lucky, neither were the people who had parked their trucks on the side of the road with their windows open. It was a pretty weird but funny experience.

That afternoon we played a soccer game against the Green Discovery company guides who took us on our treks through Luang Nam Tha. I had a great time playing. We ended up tying them 1-1, which was a good result since we thought we would get killed. They had their own jerseys, but they weren't all that impressive.
